Most hotels in South Africa – as in the rest of the world – operate at less than 50% occupancy rates, especially outside of the main tourist seasons and destinations. We’re not stupid - we would never recommend leaving booking a boutique hotel or guesthouse in Cape Town to the last minute in the peak season of December - but in general you can leave your decisions on where to stay a lot later than you might think.

So with expert advice, you can be reasonably confident that nearly every hotel has availability even for that very night. And when we at Satpack Travel phone them up and ask whether they would prefer an empty room that night or giving us a big fat discount, we know the answer they’ll give. So you can enjoy amazing deals at places you might not normally consider.

What if you arrive somewhere and the weather is terrible? The unusual weather patterns of South Africa mean that often it can be raining and blowing a gale on one side of Table Mountain but there are clear blue skies on the other. And with an eye on the weather forecast in your area we can plan your trip ‘real-time’.
